Hello Fellow Gamers.

Rango is the topic of Today’s review.  The gameplay is basically every single platformer you have ever played, running and jumping through environments, laying some smack on your enemies, blah blah blah.  But that’s not to say the game is a bad one.  If you like platforming, or just liked Rango, then you should enjoy this game.

Bad Bill is back.  Strange glowing rocks are appearing everywhere.  What does it all mean?  Rango is out to find out.  He tells the town of Dirt about his exploits and heroism, as well as helping Beans through a tough time, from the safety of the Bar.  The environments are very large and beautiful, and are full of things to smash.  It has a nice sense of scale, for example, like a wooden plank acting like a bridge with thumb tacks for guard rails.  Sheriff stars are your friends.  You earn them from killing enemies, breaking boxes, and can even find them lying around.  They allow Rango to upgrade his moves, for more damage, faster charge for special attack, more ammo in clips, etc.

Rango is a good brawler, as he has a short combo, a ground slam move, an uppercut, and a special move that involves his long sticky tongue.  He also has a gun for shootout scenarios, which can dispatch enemies quickly.  And when you’re up to your neck in bad guys, look for a Jack in the Box, to get a better weapon, but this a brief happening.  There is a machine gun, a shotgun, and a rocket launcher.

Rango also rides on the back of a Road Runner as well as a Bat.  In these portions, you will have infinite ammo to gun down any baddies, and will have to dodge obstacles to make it to the end.

Also, while in the levels, look for Mr. Timms bowls and mining spots.  If you find all of these in each level, you get concept art, character bios, and even new costumes for Rango.

Five out of five, don’t buy this game on the Wii, which is a lousy, watered down version, and that one gets a two out of five.
The game is great if you don't buy it on the Wii.
